What is carco disability strategies?

Disability can play an important role in how we navigate life and work. It can be reassuring to have a helping hand along the way. CARCO Disability Strategies is there to help whether it’s to assist you in managing life’s transitions (like moving out of your family home, or transitioning from high school to post-secondary school, or any other changes) and can also provide support to you every step of the way in your employment journey. Erica will assess your needs, discuss your disability-related concerns, and guide you toward your desired goals in a way that will set you up for success.

She will help you to develop long-term strategies that will not only deal with your current concerns but that will also help you in navigating potential barriers in the future. It can be necessary to take stock of which skills you have used in the past to navigate challenging and inaccessible situations.

Being a person with disabilities often requires you to advocate for yourself and your needs. Through CARCO Disability Strategies, Erica wants to help you build your self-advocacy skills in a way that celebrates your uniqueness and does not undermine the skills and competencies that you have.

CARCO Disability Strategies also offers on-demand advisory services to employers, service providers, educators, health professionals and family members to assist them in providing people with disabilities with support that is disability-positive and helps them feel empowered in achieving their career, educational, and interpersonal goals.

Do you often feel like you are being underestimated? Are your personal or professional goals feeling out of reach? Let’s change that!

I received one-on-one employment coaching support from Erica that consisted of exploring my previous life experiences to see how they could best support me in narrowing down which direction I decided to take in my career. From disability disclosure, to learning how to advocate for your needs, Erica provided great advice on how to tackle these issues. In these sessions Erica used her exceptional active listening and people skills to create a warm, safe, and supportive environment that allowed me to see how more areas of my life could provide insight in my career planning than previously thought. If you are a person with a disability and looking for employment coaching support, I can’t recommend Erica enough. She will easily connect with you through shared lived experiences of having a disability and become your biggest cheerleader as you enter the world of work.
